13 day China motorcycle tour to the Tibet border

A very quick China border crossing for our China motorcycle tour group

It’s still early in the day, we’ll be able to get the motorcycles inspected early and hopefully get some km’s under our belts in the afternoon.

China motorcycle tour

A big relief when all the border paperwork is over. Our China motorcycle tour group is now legally in China and ready to enjoy the Himalayan mountain roads

Off north into Xishuangbanna Province on the fast highway, the roads arn’t too busy, this is already a great motorcycle tour.

Our China motorcycle tour group is now riding in China. There’s nothing quite like crossing that border and you’re actually riding your bike on Chinese soil, a feeling that’s hard to describe

Every foreign motorcycle that arrives in China has to be safety inspected before the temporary registration is issued.

A quick ride & our China motorcycle tour group is at the test center. It’ll take an hour or so to get all the bikes tested and the Chinese temporary registrations issued.

The testing was more rigorous than on other China motorcycle tours we have done in the past. This time headlights and braking was checked on every motorcycle.

We had not seen the headlight check before on one of our China motorcycle tours. Every motorcycle passed and wasn’t a too annoying process actually quite fun

A quick spot of lunch then onto the amazing Chinese highways.

Putting some fast KM’s under our belts. Our China motorcycle tour group is making fantastic time on these civil engineering marvels.

Big, long, descents in Yunnan, China as we get into the base of the Himalayan mountains.
Motorcycle riding into the Himalayan Mountains

Some of the descents are as long as 7km. Our China motorcycle tour group will come across numerous, truck, emergency run off lanes as we get higher into the Himalayan mountains.
